Who can nominate?
Anyone can submit a nomination. Nominations are open to individuals, organisations, institutions, community groups, and peers. Self-nominations are also accepted, provided all required information and supporting evidence are included.
Do nominees need to be based in Africa?
No. Nominees may be based anywhere in the world. However, their work must demonstrate clear, measurable impact on Africa or African communities, including contributions from members of the African diaspor
How many categories can one nominee enter?
A nominee may be entered in up to three categories per award year. Each category submission is reviewed independently and must clearly align with the category focus.
What makes someone eligible for the Africa Innovators Honor?
Eligibility is based on impact, leadership, and innovation. Nominees must demonstrate meaningful contributions that advance technology, creativity, enterprise, science, public service, or community development in Africa.
How are nominations reviewed?
Nominations are reviewed through a structured, multi-stage process that includes eligibility checks and evaluation by a panel of judges using clearly defined criteria.
Who are the judges?
Judges are respected professionals from across Africa’s innovation ecosystem, including technology, business, academia, creative industries, public service, and social impact sectors.
Do winners need to attend the ceremony in person?
Attendance is encouraged but not required. Honorees may participate virtually if travel is not possible.
